(context: school)

to quote what i wrote in one of my notebooks:

My sadness is immeasurable. All of my thoughts circle back to "I am sad."

i'm not going to implode or anything, but this pretty much sums up how i feel so far. i know it's only been 10 days but i didn't expect it to go horribly wrong so quickly either.

i drew little mini drawings here and there to keep me sane but nothing good. there's no time to put effort into art anymore. of course.

It can't be that bad so quickly, can it? College is one thing. On day one, the professor is already emphasizing a major exam within the first two weeks, but regular school was pretty laid back for a month or so... unless you got one of those teachers really loves encouraging group work and doing stupid projects all year long. I applaud the enthusiasm, but they should know the end result is always going to be one person doing all the work while the rest of the group goofs off until the last second.

Also, it's okay to merely doodle here and there. I used to come up with crude little comics to share with my friends and, if I wasn't feeling creative, I would decorate the outside of my folders and notebooks with patterns of lines, squares, and random blob shapes. Doing even that little bit each day helps keep you from becoming rusty and you never know when a moment of inspiration might strike.

Try not to let sadness take over at school. Remember, nearly everyone else around you is also pretty miserable until it's time to go home. It's like being at work. No one wants to be there.
